Quite a few years ago, I asked an older gentleman if he had lived his entire life in Nova Scotia, and he was quick to respond, “I haven’t lived my whole life, yet”! While it was clear that he hadn’t lived his entire life, at that point, it was also fairly clear he planned to live it out here. From time to time I still ask that same basic question, but I tend to phrase it a little differently, for obvious reasons. The point is, this is a great province to live in, and for more reasons than any one person could fully explain.

One of the potential benefits of living in our beautiful province is the option to live either an urban or rural lifestyle and still be able to easily commute into the city of Halifax. The distance from some of our subdivisions that offer something of a rural lifestyle, is such that commute times - in one direction - can be less than thirty minutes to Halifax. For those that want even larger properties in a full rural setting commute times – in one direction - can easily be less than an hour, to Halifax. Urban life offers short commute times, numerous amenities, and an extensive public transportation system. The Halifax Regional Municipality enjoys a diversified economy, and this fact has contributed greatly to the stability of Real Estate values. As a province that is almost surrounded by the ocean we have many beaches plus numerous lakes. We also have one of the largest natural harbours in the world.

Our housing market offers a diverse selection of housing options - everything from Century homes to new homes built using the most modern construction techniques and building materials. We have homes of various sizes that can accommodate small families or large families or just couples. Visit my Email Alert section to see some of the styles of homes that are available. Depending on the location of a home it may have municipal services, or on-site services for water and sewer. We’ve seen quite a bit of growth in the development of Condominium type homes, and as a result there can be a wide selection of this type of home to consider, for those who choose this lifestyle.
